An implementation specialist helps customers install software products and teach them how to use them. They will be in constant interaction with customers, so they can identify their needs and use that information to improve the product. That being the case, they will hold regular meetings with them to collect valuable data for the development team. 


Once data is collected, they will transform it into technical requirements. Even though this role seems to be focused on customer service, implementation specialists also need to have a sound understanding of software engineering principles. That’s why you should highlight your technical skills in your resumes, such as programming, SQL, and database management. 


As an implementation specialist, you must have each client's information organized into detailed folders or documents. This will ease the interpretation process. In addition, you must give customers estimations in terms of budget and time. It is your responsibility to ensure everyone completes their deliverables and is aware of project milestones.
