UAT testers plan, execute and coordinate user acceptance tests. They are responsible for planning the testing requirements, resources, team, and timeframe. UAT testers also estimate budgets and coordinate with both stakeholders and the technical team to carry out these tests.

Once they have a strategy in mind, they will identify the target audience and possible scenarios. This includes creating the test scripts which is a set of automated procedures used during the testing process. Then, they start the test and document every relevant factor using a bug tracker.

Now that they have tested the software, they have enough information to update the code and incorporate changes. This way, the application will be ready for release. UAT testers often work under pressure and have to meet tight deadlines. Therefore, it is essential to demonstrate your organizational and time management skills on your resume.

UAT testers usually have a technical background, such as a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Your potential employer might expect you to have advanced training in software testing and coding, so it’s essential to highlight your educational background on your resume. You can also include non-traditional training such as bootcamps, courses, and certificate programs.
