Purchasing managers are responsible for obtaining unprocessed materials or products for an organization. Their main goal is to increase a company’s number of customers and engagement. These products they buy can be used for either reselling or manufacturing. That’s why purchasing managers can work in multiple fields, including wholesale trade, manufacturing, government agencies, and retail trade. Because of this, your resume can include a wide range of previous experience, and doesn't necessarily need specific purchasing experience.


This is a managerial role, so you’ll be in charge of the purchasing team. This means you will have responsibilities such as recruiting agents, training employees, overseeing their work, and creating performance reports to share with stakeholders.
